Cancellation Policy

The Switch’s cancellation policy applies only to cancellations made prior to the Agreement start date. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing from the email address used to execute your Residential Tenancy Agreement or Occupancy Agreement and sent to The Switch’s designated
email address.
 
Cancelling Before the Agreement Start Date (All Timeframes):
 
If you request to cancel your executed Agreement before the Agreement start date – regardless of how much notice is provided – your Agreement will be cancelled. However, you will not be entitled to a refund of your deposit unless you can provide valid written evidence of one of the following
circumstances:
 – Your Australian visa application was rejected;
 – Your offer of enrolment at an Australian university was withdrawn; or
 – Your employment was terminated by your employer before the Agreement start date.
 
Approved cancellations under these circumstances will be eligible for a full refund of your deposit.
If your executed agreement is in Western Australia, the deposit of two weeks’ rent will be used to cover the expenses of locating another tenant to take over the apartment and the rent lost over this period. If there is no loss to The Switch, the deposit will be refunded.
