Pop-up Retail
Our Pop-up Retail display allows room for cool and exciting pop-ups to enter The Switch each week. Some weeks you might head down to the lobby and find yourself a pre-loved books store; other times, you will find yourself browsing through handmade crochet! The great part is that if you have a new venture of your own, you can ask to set up your own display!
Laundry
Tenants will have access to a fully equipped laundry room with plenty of washers and dryers, as well as all your laundry necessities like detergent on hand. The laundry uses QR codes to activate the washers and dryers; just scan the QR and hit go.
Co-working spaces
Our co-working spaces offer you the opportunity not only to live but also to work from The Switch with total ease. Allowing you to separate your work/study life from your room without having to head out of your residence to a library or cafe. Our co-working spaces offer a quiet workspace, as well as the opportunity for collaboration in our private meeting rooms.

Our Communal Kitchen presents tenants the space to cook, collaborate and share meals in the kitchen with friends outside of their private residences. As well as allowing access to a variety of cooking appliances such as blenders, mixers, juicers, and slow cookers.

The Switch provides residents with automated parcel management lockers. These lockers make receiving post/mail hassle-free. Couriers deliver post/mail directly to the lockers, and you will receive an automatic notification to let you know you can come and collect your parcel at your own convenience.

How old do I need to be?
The minimum age requirement to stay at The Switch is 18. This means you will need to be 18 years old at the start of your lease.
Can I share a room with someone?
Yes you can. We have certain studio room types that we allow dual occupancy. Alternatively, you can also choose to share a cluster apartment with your friends.
What is included in my room?
Your room will be fully furnished regardless which room type you have chosen. Please head to the building page to find out what furniture and kitchen appliances are included.
What is included in my rent?
Your rent includes rent per your agreement plus utility bills, gym membership, unlimited WiFi, free access to designated common areas and free use of on-site laundry.
How much is the deposit?
Payment of a deposit of up to 2 weeks’ rent is required at the time of applying for accommodation. At The Switch we are transparent on our cancellation policy so please visit Terms of Use page on our website for more details. The deposit will become your first 2 weeks’ rent once you move-in.
Is there a bond payable?
We require a bond payment equivalent to 4 weeks’ rent from our tenants under residential tenancy agreement. Each state has specific requirements around how you can pay the bond. Please feel free to speak to our team on this.
What can I do if I want to cancel my booking or agreement?
How long is my lease and what type of lease do I sign?
We are not one-lease-length-for-all kind of community so please speak to our team on how long you would like to stay. Of course, the longer you stay with The Switch your weekly rent will be lower.
You will be required to enter into a residential tenancy agreement with us.
Can I choose my move in date?
We may allow flexible move-in dates based on our room availability. Please reach out to The Switch team and we will try our best to help you with this.
Who can live in The Switch properties?
First of all you need to be at least 18 when you move-in. If you are a student we will need a copy of your ID, your enrolment details and valid visa (international students only) before you move-in. If you are a young professional we will need your ID, proof of income, valid visa (if you are not an Australian citizen or permanent resident) before we execute your agreement.
What is the honesty kitchen?
Our Honesty kitchen aims to provide you with 24/7 food and beverage options within our community.
How does the gym work?
Our team will register you as a member upon check-in so you can use the gym anytime and for free. We also have a professional trainer on-site so you can join other members if you wish to pay for professional training sessions.
